Anđela Amidžić (1998) is a fiber artist whose practice explores how our inner worlds are shaped. She uses embroidery as a medium to reflect on the interplay between material and narrative, the front and reverse of the image, the conscious and the unconscious. Rooted in the intimacy of the personal unconscious and the process of handcraft, her works simultaneously engage in dialogue with broader social and cultural contexts. Through textile structures, she examines themes of memory, the unconscious, home, the body, and togetherness, questioning how threads and surfaces can serve as carriers of personal and collective stories. By merging traditional techniques with a contemporary artistic language, she creates spaces where the personal and the collective, the intimate and the universal, converge.
After completing her undergraduate studies in graphic design at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in 2022, she spent her final year in Athens at the University of West Attica as part of the Erasmus+ program. She currently lives and works in Novi Sad and Berlin as an independent artist. In 2025, she realized the project The Other Side of the Story through solo exhibitions at the Belgrade Youth Center and the “Čedomir Krstić” Gallery in Pirot. She has also participated in several group exhibitions, including Sisters of Fate at Woonder Studio, Perspective 24 at Štab Gallery in Belgrade, and Risk at the Gallery of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, held within the EXP project. She has been a member of SULUV since 2025.
