Through the project The Other Side of the Story, I explore the ways in which our inner worlds are shaped. The reverse side of embroidery, much like the unconscious, carries abstracted symbols and tells a story that may seem elusive at first glance, yet invites us to look deeper. It raises the question of how the unconscious communicates with the conscious, through images and motifs we recognize. And what they reveal about ourselves.
By combining embroidery and fairy tales, archetypal techniques and narratives, I aim to revive tradition through a contemporary visual language, creating a dialogue between repressed inner layers and the narratives we construct and share with others.
